More than a year ago, some People around Snidoom had an Idea.
An Idea of a new Faction.
An Idea of a faction that is REAL diverse to the others!
An idea of a faction that will steamroll the modding community!
An idea of... THE NOMADS!
Maybe 9 months ago, the modding teams of the nomad faction and Infrared Modding fusioned. We kept the Name Infrared Modding, and we kept the idea of the nomads.
It's been a lot of work 'till now, but we are very close to the final balancing beta.
By now, we have more than 55 unique and - most of them - with very special abilities and unordinary gameplay-style.
The Nomads will be the maybe biggest project in here....and we even have the support of GIA, that, if we balance them right, we'll get into the GW. Officially supported!
The Nomads are a faction that is really strong at firepower and mobility, but weakens at good armor.

Feel free to read, it is still WiP.
Right now, we are releasing some artwork for our modding project to show our good progress. Those artworks though are from a former state of development, Scalestor, our Texturer, has wayyyy improved.
All credits for them go to ArcherV and ColJessep.

|||cool, looks nice
that black hole launch looked beatiful as awesome |||I would like to point out I am in no way related to this "Dark Legion" :p|||Legion Darrath|||GW= Galactic War
GIA = guy|||Rawr. We will migrate at you!|||Those *arts* seem to be just game screenshots with random photoshop filter shooping applied.
Especially that Gnasher picture, it has floating trees in the background. I've never seen a piece of hand-drawn art that has accidental floating trees, that's something you only see in the actual game.|||PheonixIV|||Hegemony's stuff is quite good, although i'm curious as to the point of shooping in-game images, why not just leave them as in-game images?
ArcherV has fallen to the dogs of shooping and clearly doesn't know how to use filters very well. Thos images, quite frankly and without any lying, look like poo.|||OH NOES! They found out - RUN FOR THE HILLS! xD
You got us Phoenix, all pictures are photoshoped ingame screenshots, except the first one of course. I got some nasty looking shadow glitches with the FA engine (blocky shadows at the edges of units, you see that even in official FA screens sometimes) and I wanted to get rid of them. Then I thought: what the heck, lets combine renders from Blender with an ingame background and I found this art filter. I liked the filter and kept it.
Didnt mean to mislead you guys or something, they are more or less ingame screens but isnt that even better than some awesome drawing of a unit that never looks like that ingame?
Anyway, I can assure you that the ingame screens look even better than the photoshopped stuff but some of the units only have beta textures so far. We have one texture artist atm but about 60 units ingame. Scalestor (our texturer) is working as fast as possible but quality >>>> quantity.
Feel free to comment on the 'Officer of the Hegemony' though, shes no ingame screenshot... |||To fix the shadows, increase the shadowsize.
Go into the console and type ren_shadowsize 2048, you can go up to about 4000, but i find very little noticable difference between 2000 and 4000.
That should fix the shadow problem.|||Looking good. :)|||When I first saw this thread I was actually wondering why you had put some half-assed photoshopped screenshots in there and not the real deal. Can't you just turn shadows off for the screens? Anyway lets not dwell on that.
This new race looks great. IT certainly feels like the old TLL mod for TA. Anyone remember that? Anyway I like the look of those units. Nice to hear that you are making them preform very differently compared to the other teams as well.
Just watched the youtube videos as I was writing this. The railgun really gives a TLL vibe. It's really cool how this mod seems experiment with new weapon mechanics.|||I like it, it's got a GDI from Tib-Sun feel to it colour and style wise...
*big thumbs up*|||Looks very very cool!|||phoenix do you really think your ....choice of words is adequate?
Though YOU think they may not be sooo awesome....you dont need to be insulting, do you?|||C.Lupus|||PheonixIV|||looks awsome, hope its done soon.
on a side note, why does the general FA discussions version of this have way more posts?|||because a flame war started
to keep it clean here, ignore all agressive posts.
please.|||ZombieJesus|||f1dd3|||Lt_hawkeye|||ZombieJesus
