[REQ] Voice over mods

Was looking through the forums lately, and found a few VERY old mods, all your voices are belong to us, Voices are over, and talking money. I couldn't make any of them work, though.
Does anyone know where I could find some similar mods that will work with SCFA v.3603?|||I'd second this...I'd love to find a mod to replace the 'All your voice belong to us' that would work with FA and the current popular mods.|||Hi,
its funny that this topic comes up now..
ive got a cool mod planned, that will be like an emote type thing..
for instance if you typed lol in game everyone would hear a sound something to the tune of LOL... and so on...
it wont replace the current game sounds rather add something else to them.|||Not.....exactly what I meant (or even close. lol). I was thinking more along the lines of a mod that set off a sound whenever a certain event happened.
I.E
"Warning: experimental unit detected"
"Strategic missile shot down"
"ACU Meltdown imminent"
Something to help coordinate ourselves on the battlefield. Afterall, if you can't manage multiple locations and tasks at once in the universe of Supreme Commander...well...might as well take up knitting.|||Umm.. Fifth?
"Warning: experimental unit detected" Yes! this would be awesome! No more Czar Pie to the face!
And while were at it: "No remaining nukes lofted" <-This would be nice to know when all yours/the enemy's are all down or detonated
"Strategic artillery detected" Yeah, when I'm looking at my front lines I'd kinda like to know when the first of these bad boys starts firing (maybe a one time warning?)|||Hi,
yeah i knew what YOU meant and want, ;)|||Yeah, the warning were what I had in mind as well! :)|||Hi,
although this is completely possible, the hard part would be getting some
actual real tone voices for the voice overs.. modding wise you can trigger a sound
for any event in game once the right script code is found.. to trigger the sound.
ive been looking for a good tts engine to make new voice over sounds...
the best one i have found that sounds remotely real is this one..
http://tts.loquendo.com/ttsdemo/default.asp?page=id&voice=Susan
but it has a silly jingle in the back ground... i have the loquendo tts engine installed.. but i dont have and cant find any voices that work with it.. :/
if you know of a good tts engine that does real voices and not the crappy steven hawkins ones.. id be happy to give this mod a try..
a few weeks ago i spoke to resin about such a mod that you want,
i was thinking of some avatar type thing in a video window that informs
you of game events, much like you want.. if i find a good tts engine i will give this mod a try.. the avatar wouldnt be a charactor but rather some kind of morphing crystal for sera, a red glow type thing for cybran a morphing square for uef and umm not sure about aeon ... you get the idea.. i reckon this would be cool.
once i get my current projects finished ill have a real look for a good tts engine and give this mod a go.. time scale to starting it unknown... but i will do it..|||Sound good, I don't really know of any good TTS engines, but I'll take a look and post if I find anything.
*edit* Are you trying the demo version of the link above, or do you have the actual product? Outside of the background music, the voice wasn't great, but seemed ok. It would probably work.|||The little "jingle" in the background is probably because it is the demo....|||Hi,
i have the full product but no voices for it.. :)
in the online link i posted yes that is a demo.. ala jingle!
cool if you find a good tts engine post link :)
i thought the loquendo voices were good! best ive heard from a tts and ive listened to a few ;)|||I fully support this concept. However, most of the text to speech engines are really basic. I would recommend Willowtalk, it's what MC. Hawking used. However it seems their main webpage is down, willowpond.com. The other option would be to get a pretty girl with a nice voice to record some lines, then run them through a mechanical filter or two. If someone could get the samples I would gladly filter them for optimum computereyness.|||Don't suppose anyone has the K.O sound from Scott Pilgrim vs the world? Maybe I can modify the script that's already there in Voices are over so that it would play that when a commander is destroyed.
Actually, this TTS site is perfect for what I've got in mind. The jingle in the background is acceptable, and one could even handwave it away by saying each faction intentionally puts that jingle in AI notices as a way to keep Commanders calm.
