[SUPCOM] Dead Or Alive?

SUPCOM
Is our community dead, are we floggin a dead horse here?
i have this nasty feeling the dream has ended!|||Domino|||I dono everytime i have logged into GPGnet lately there seems to be quite a few people still on it. So the game is still played quite a bit.
I do think our little corner of the universe is sorta drying out. Truthfully if we could get more people who still visit general discussion to become interested in the mods we might be able to get more flow through here. But whoever is moderating those forms has been flat out moving any mod thread to "mod talk" for the last few months. True it would normally belong here its killing our ability to draw in the curious :P|||Exavier Macbeth|||yeah the blackops and 4dc boys have done us proud, i seriously think if it wasnt for you boys fa would have died along time ago.
i dont want it to end, i enjoy what i do, with the little contributions i make.. its very stress releaving :) granted i came late in the game.. but i still think this games platform
has huge potentail.. we needa be more creative.. and introduce new things..
maybe even "a total conversion" or some new single player missions.. we needa go a new direction.. inject some fun for a while.. make people install the game again to see something really cool, that they havent seen before.. in supcom.
we need something ... i dont know what it is... but we desperately need it..
if the sh!ts at GPG enabled hooking and modman in sc2 we wouldnt be having this conversation now.. we would have all prolly migrated to sc2 and loved it by now.. i cant even stand to even look at my sc2 game box anymore lol it breaks my heart :(
i even deleted the icon from my desktop, granted i havent uninstalled it yet.. it will come though..|||hey Exavier,
do some animations on the commanders, transforming there legs and feet into boosters and ill make em transform and fly around.. dun dun dun... SUPerCOM!!|||I expect that KNC will liven things up somewhat.|||Hi,
BulletMagnet|||Getting off-topic. I had a chance to see a Kinect in action last night. 'twas a rather dark room, with about six people standing around drinking. The Kinect appeared to work fine (was a dancing game that was being played).
[PS:] KNC means Kings and Castles.|||Hi,
BulletMagnet|||ALIVE !!! I play it twice a week with friends in LAN. And I'm impatiently waiting new releases in mod community. :!:|||Hi,
Krapougnak|||Hi,
i enjoy with a couple of friends this masterpice too ;)
(and cant wait for new versions of BlackOps/4DC + Furry mods [have just start to
test Wyvern mod how it fits/interchange in the big mood pool -52 mods ATM-
that my friends an I use ..])
But the problem I see :
The Game self is not rock solide - so he need more patches - but this will never happen, the best we can hope is the final arraive of the 3603 patch.(and i wait only for the exe fixes on it - the unit changes i dont need :P )
The biggest pool of user in the past come from the "fast play and big GFX junk" fraction, and for this newer games with more up-to-date GFX and simply "Just New"
make it leave SupComFA ...
The base of players that give more points to big/long/strategic battles (like the users, the new fences you build love -it is no much need in a 30min game for this ...)
are very small ...
My, and for my friends, biggest problem is that battles going to long ...
It is not, we dont love long battles - but with no multiplayer save - its make anytime no big fun if you cancel the 30. battle , only one of the player have no time more (need to go sleep/work/real-Life things ...) and cant save and say "next time i will burn your commander final away :P ..."
So long and very good battles going to canceled and short battles make not so much fun ....
And final - it is only very few good big maps available that makes fun to play big, long battles ...
So at the point FA is superior to other/new RTS games - it lacks important things ...
(so i and my friends start over to Play StarTrek Armada II FleetOps , not it is better as FA - but have Multiplayer Save - no cancel a battle anymore and waste 6 or 8 or more hours of build your base and planing strategies ...)
Regards
R-TEAM|||Alive and well - two multiplayer LAN and IP games weekly.
The capability of the engine leaves almost limitless options, many which have been barely scratched. I'm quite enjoying working with the AI to give my group additional challenges.|||RxTEAM|||RxTEAM|||Domino|||DeadMG|||DeadMG|||It has all the characteristics of being alive: active mods, an active forum, and active players. My group of about 12 plays anywhere from 1-6 games nightly. Though none of us can stand matchmaking clients so it's all done over the lan functionality. Thusly, we don't contribute to the gpgnet count. And I'm the designated forum representative for our group. We have a mod that we have collectively been working on for a while that one of our members claims rights to, would love to publish it here but only after we can beat him up enough, I mean get his permission. So yeah, still alive and well despite the abandonment from gpg and a sequel that never happened.|||cool beans!|||As Total Annihilation has stood the test of time - so too shall SupCom stand the march of years on high, forever over-shadowing it's runt younger brother. (Seriously, can you call a game that runs on X-Box 360 strategy?)
Yes, Supreme Commander is alive and well. The coming of end of year, exams, holidays, etc. is probably making the forums seem a little sparse.|||SupCom will never die! How dare you get such an idea X-x|||Achronus|||Hi,
LayZboy
